Novartis to Use Beyond Genomics Systems Biology Platform for Cardiovascular Biomarker Study

NEW YORK, Feb. 11-Novartis will use Beyond Genomics' systems biology platform to analyze cardiovascular disease patient samples and identify diagnostic and prognostic markers for the disease, Beyond Genomics said today.

Under the agreement, Novartis will provide plasma samples and research funding. Beyond Genomics will compare normal and cardiovascular disease-related samples in order to characterize molecular markers.

Beyond Genomics, based in Waltham, Mass., combines proteomic and metabolomic analysis with pattern recognition and data mining software for a systems approach to drug discovery and development.
