NanoString, PSS Partner on Automated Fluidics for Gene Expression Platform

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) - Precision System Science and NanoString have signed an agreement to co-develop an automated fluidics handling tool that NanoString will distribute with its nCounter gene expression platform, the companies said today.

Under the agreement, the companies will integrate PSS’s Magtration technology, which uses magnetic particles to extract and purify substances, with NanoString’s nCounter.

NanoString will integrated the Magtration technology into the nCounter, which uses single-molecule reporters to bind to targets to quantify mRNAs in a sample. NanoString said the tool allows researchers to count these target molecules without amplification.
