MWG to Sell Microarray Genomic Dx Assets to India Informatics Shop

NEW YORK, Feb. 25 (GenomeWeb News) - Ocimum Biosolutions of Hyderabad, India, intends to acquire the assets of MWB Biotech's genomic diagnosis microarray business, the companies said in a joint statement today.


Ocimum, which sells LIMS and offers contract research services, is taking all assets, including inventory and stock, but not the employees of MWG's distressed microarray business. The company will relocate the business to India, while offering some services from Indianapolis, the companies said in a statement.


Financial details were not disclosed.


Earlier this month, MWG announced the sale of its lab automation business, including its Theonyx liquid-handling platform, to Greiz, Germany-based Aviso.   MWG had announced its intention to exit the automation and array business  in October.
