MWG Biotech to Market Millipore s Montage Nucleic Acid Prep Kits

NEW YORK, March 9 - MWG Biotech has agreed to market Millipore's Montage Life Science kits for nucleic acid preparation as part of its Automated Biosystems platforms, the companies said Thursday. 

The kits provide an automated method for washing and purifying plasmid DNA, and will be included in MWG's platforms by the end of the first quarter of 2001.

The Millipore kits will accompany Ebersberg, Germany-based MWG's platforms for sequencing reaction set-up, cycling, removal of non-incorporated terminators, and plasmid purification.

Combining the two products gives researchers a faster, more efficient, and more user-friendly system for laboratory automation procedure, Millipore said in a statement.

The agreement is non-exclusive and covers Europe, North America, and other selected countries.

In recent months, Millipore, in Bedford, Mass., has partnered with Applied Biosystems and Proteome Systems to develop protein preparation kits for proteomics analysis.
