MWG Biotech Buys Another 454 Sequencer

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – The German sequencing services company MWG Biotech has purchased a Genome Sequencer FLX system from 454 Life Sciences of the Roche Group, 454 said today.

This is MWG Biotech’s second GS FLX purchase. The Branford, Conn.-based Roche subsidiary said the system will allow MWG to improve the quality and enhance the speed of its sequencing services.

The GS FLX is used for de novo sequencing and re-sequencing of genomes, metagenomics, RNA analysis, and targeted sequencing of specific DNA regions, 454 said.

MWG Biotech bought its first GS FLX in July of last year.
