Molecular Devices, Agilent Lead Decline in BCW Index

Shares in Molecular Devices fell more than 12 percent this past week while Agilent Technologies fell more than 10 percent after the firm reported its fiscal second-quarter earnings. The two firms led an overall decline in the BCW Index of 3.1 percent for the week. Beckman Coulter was the only gainer of the 16 firms in the Index, rising a slim 1.1 percent.

Despite the decline, the Index outperformed the Nasdaq and the Nasdaq Biotech Index, which fell 4.7 percent and 4.5 percent, respectively. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 1.9 percent for the week.
