Deadlines

November 8 Full proposal deadline for NSF's Increasing the Participation and Advancement of Women in Academic Science and Engineering Careers grant to develop systemic approaches to increase the representation and advancement of women in academic science, technology, engineering and mathematics careers, and to aid in the development of a more diverse science and engineering workforce.

November 9 Poster submission deadline for the American Association for the Advancement of Science's 2011 Annual Meeting, to be held in Washington, DC, in February.

November 10 Deadline to apply for NIH's Knockout Mouse Phenotyping grant to perform broad phenotyping of the International Knockout Mouse Consortium's mutant mice in order to produce functional information for each protein-coding gene in the mammalian genome.

November 15 Abstract submission deadline for the American Society for Microbiology's Viral Genome Replication conference, to be held in Banff, Canada, in February.

November 17 Deadline to apply for NIH's Scalable Assays for Unbiased Analysis of Neurobiological Function grant to develop novel, robust analytical platforms using in vitro assays to reveal changes in neuronal and glial function. Additionally, the novel assay platforms would provide opportunities to measure neurobiological endpoints and build a target identification and drug discovery pipeline.

November 17 Deadline to apply for NIH's NIDDK Centers for Diabetes Translation Research grant to establish Centers for Diabetes Translation Research whose cores support and enhance type II diabetes translational research.

November 19 Deadline to apply for NIH's genomics of transplantation cooperative research program grant to conduct large-scale, broad-scope genomic studies in clinical transplantation of solid organ, tissue, and cells with the goal of identifying and characterizing genetic polymorphisms and expression patterns that correlate with transplantation outcomes and finding the genetic basis of variability in graft survival among populations or individuals.

November 30 Deadline to apply for NIH's Molecular Mechanisms of Adverse Metabolic Drug Effects in Children and Adolescents grant to identify molecular mechanisms of adverse metabolic effects of drugs meant for children and adolescents.

December 1 Poster submission deadline for Cambridge Healthtech Institute's PepTalk 2011: The Protein science week conference, to be held in San Diego in January.

December 9 Deadline to apply for NCI's Cancer Prevention Research Small Grant Program to propose small and time-limited projects pertinent to the development of cancer chemoprevention agents, biomarkers for early cancer detection, cancer-related nutrition science, and/or clinical prevention studies that focus on specific target organs.

December 9 Deadline to apply for NSF's Dynamics of Coupled Natural and Human Systems grant to perform interdisciplinary analyses of relevant human and natural system processes and complex interactions among human and natural systems at diverse scales.

December 10 Abstract submission deadline for the American Society for Microbiology's Conference on Regulating with RNA in Bacteria, to be held in Cancun, Mexico, in March.

December 10 Full proposal deadline for NSF's Advancing Digitization of Biological Collections grant to create a national resource of digital data documenting existing biological collections, and to advance scientific knowledge by improving access to digitized information and images from vouchered scientific collections across the US.
