NEW YORK, Oct. 25 (GenomeWeb News) - The Malaysian Genomics Resource Centre is using Hewlett-Packard's Itanium 2-based HP Integrity rx4640 cluster server for its online bioinformatics applications program, HP said today.

The program, called "My Genomics Resource Centre," is expected to launch sometime in 2006. It relies on Synamatix's SynaBASE structured network database system and its analysis tools to run its bioinformatics applications platform.

HP said it will support the technology and jointly promote next-generation bioinformatics tools on the MGRC platform, the company said. MGRC has secured as many as 70 active users worldwide, HP said.
