Shares in Luminex climbed nearly 25 percent for the week ended Tuesday after the company reported that its fourth-quarter revenues rose 23 percent (see related article). The firm also reported its first full year of profitability.
While Luminex led all gainers for the week, Thermo Fisher led decliners with a drop of 4.8 percent for the tracking period. The firm reported its first quarterly results since Thermo and Fisher merged late last year (see Briefs).
Overall, the BCW Index closed up .92 percent for the week. In comparison, the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped .1 percent, the Nasdaq fell .5 percent, and the Nasdaq Biotech Index rose .7 percent.
