Luminex and Swiss Firm Tecan Co-Develop Assay System

NEW YORK, June 6-Luminex and Tecan will combine and co-market their products to create an integrated sample preparation and assay system, the two companies said today.

 

The system is expected to be available beginning in the end of 2002. At that point, the partners will co-market this system in a nonexclusive arrangement.

 

Luminex' xMAP system performs medium and high-throughput assays for pharmaceutical, diagnostics and research applications.

 

Tecan specializes in developing tools and supplies for pharmaceutical and biotechnology research. The company manufactures liquid handling instrumentation and sample preparation systems.

 

Zurich, Switzerland-based Tecan has a site in Durham, N.C.
