NEW YORK, April 14 - Large Scale Biology has appointed Kevin Ryan as its new president and CEO, replacing its current CEO, Robert Erwin, and former president, John Fowler, the company said today.
Erwin, a founder of LSBC, will remain as chairman of the board and head of the company's scientific advisory board. Fowler, who resigned as president, will remain on the LSBC board of directors through the current term and will join private investment firm Baycrest Capital.
"The appointment of Mr. Ryan, an executive with an outstanding record of general management, sales and marketing accomplishments, signals our commitment to move our unique technologies to market more rapidly," Erwin said in a statement.
This is Ryan's second term as an executive at LSBC. He served as president of the company from 1991 to 1995, and then left to become CEO of contact lens manufacturer Wesley Jessen Corporation.
In another management change, Ronald Artale, LSBC's senior vice president and chief financial officer will also take on the position of chief operating officer.
