Kosan Licenses IP From Lilly

NEW YORK, Aug. 20 - Kosan Biosciences today said it has bought an exclusive license to certain IP owned by drug maker Eli Lilly that can help the company develop polyketides as pharmaceutical products.

 

Kosan said the license, which covers discoveries related to polyketide synthesis genes and methods for the genetic engineering of polyketide-producing organisms, includes rights to some 23 US patents, 49 foreign patents, and an undisclosed number of pending patents.
