International Sequencing Consortium Launches Online Sequencing Data Resource

The International Sequencing Consortium today launched the Large-scale Sequencing Project Database, an online public resource providing updated information on eukaryotic genomic sequencing projects.

The database contains sequencing project information accessible by organism, sequencing group, or by funding agency, and includes timetables for completion, descriptions of sequencing strategies, and links to individual sequencing projects with websites and the sites of their funding agencies, as well as links to other publicly-run databases where actual sequence data is deposited.

Sequencing of the genomes of bacteria, archaea, and other protists has not been included in the website due to the number, diversity and rapid turnover of these sequencing efforts, ISC said in a statement.
