NEW YORK, Jan. 14-Iconix Pharmaceuticals will link its DrugMatrix chemogenomics system with MDL Information Systems' open-platform database management tools, the two companies said today.
Chemists that subscribe to both systems will be able to use MDL ISIS search tools, which allow searches by chemical structure or structure similarity, to probe the genomic, toxicogenomic, and chemical information in the Iconix database.
The partnership offers chemists new ways to access genomic data in their drug discovery and testing work, said Iconix CEO Jim Neal in a statement.
Iconix Pharmaceuticals is a privately owned chemogenomics company based in Mountain View, Calif. MDS Pharma Services and Incyte are involvedin developing and commercializing DrugMatrix, and are both equity investors in the company.
MDL Information Systems is a subsidiary of Elsevier. It is based in San Leandro, Calif.
