NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – Lab equipment and automated systems company Hudson Control Group and Guava Technologies have partnered to integrate their flow cytometry and microplate liquid dispensing technologies into one platform, HCG said last week.
The partnership combines Guava’s EasyCyte Plus Flow Cytometer with HCG’s PlateCrane EX microplate robot arm and its micro10 High Volume Liquid Dispenser, Springfield, NJ-based HCG said. The benchtop flow cytometry system can be used to automate the set up and analysis of Guava’s assays, which will allow continuous operation for cell counting and viability analysis in a 96-well format.
“Hudson's microplate automation products, combined with our liquid-handling and scheduler products will enable practical applications of Guava's cytometry that have not been available before,” HCG CEO Phil Farrelly said in a statement.
He said the cooperation with Guava “should have a dramatic symbiotic effect on both companies’ value to the life sciences research community.”
The company also said that the integrated workcell includes the Softlinx software for tracking data and scheduling.
