Homeland Security Clears Cepheid s GeneXpert System for Anti-Terror Work

NEW YORK, Mar. 22 (GenomeWeb News) - Cepheid said today that the US Department of Homeland Security has certified its GeneXpert System as a "qualified anti-terrorism technology."


The designation is based on guidelines stipulated in Congress' Support Anti-Terrorism by Fostering Effective Technology Act of 2002.


The GeneXpert System uses high-throughput RT-PCR technology to identify targeted nucleic acid sequences.
