Hitachi to Use MWG Biotech s Oligos in Microarrays for Japanese Market

NEW YORK, May 6 - MWG Biotech of Ebersberg, Germany, and Hitachi Software Engineering of Tokyo, Japan, will collaborate on the design of DNA microarrays to be sold by Hitachi in Japan, MWG said today.


Hitachi has acquired rights to produce microarrays based on MWG's Oligo Set technology for sale solely in Japan. The microarrays will be co-branded "MWG Inside."


Hitachi Software Engineering initially plans to use MWG Biotech's Oligo Sets for human and mouse, and additional microarray projects "are already being discussed between the two companies," MWG said.
