Hisparroz to Use Oryzon Genomics Tech to Develop New Rice Varieties

NEW YORK, May 31 (GenomeWeb News) - Hisparroz, a Spanish rice seed production firm, has signed a pact with Oryzon Genomics to use Oryzon's genetic technology to produce new rice varieties adapted to the Guadalquivir ecosystem, the companies said last week.

Under the terms of the agreement, Hisparroz will use Oryzon's Orysamf rice gene function technology platform to develop the new varieties.

Hisparroz will evaluate and commercialize the new varieties, for which Oryzon will be granted royalty payments, the companies said.

Additional financial terms were not disclosed.
