Applera has named George Adam to its board of directors. The firm said the board now has 11 members, and that it expects several to retire over the next few years. The company said it also may need extra directors in the event that it decides to separate its Applied Biosystems and Celera businesses into two distinct groups, an option it has been considering since August.
