Genizon Teams with London Genetics on Schizophrenia Genetics Study

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – Genizon BioSciences today said that it will collaborate with London Genetics in an attempt to replicate findings made by Genizon in a genome-wide association study of schizophrenia.
 
Montreal-based Genizon said that it has identified multiple genes associated with schizophrenia using DNA samples from the Quebec Founder Population.
 
London Genetics' partner, University College London, will aim to replicate Genizon's findings, the partners said. Genotyping of samples and statistical analyses of the data will be carried out at Genizon’s research center in St. Laurent, Quebec.
 
Terms of the collaboration were not disclosed.
