GeneGo to Include UI Urbana-Champaign Bovine Orthologs in MetaCore

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – GeneGo will include bovine orthologs in the next version of its MetaCore database through a collaboration with the University Illinois Urbana-Champaign, the company said today.

The company said the university has matched the cattle orthologs to mouse-rat-human orthologous pairs.

The MetaCore 4.5, GeneGo’s most recent pathway analysis database, includes information on mouse, rat, fly, worm, yeast, chicken, chimpanzee, rhesus macaque, dog, and Plasmodium falciparum, the company said.

The company markets the database to pharmaceutical researchers involved in target selection, validation and identification of biomarkers for disease and toxicology studies.
