Gene-IT Secures $4M in Series A Financing

NEW YORK, Nov. 30 (GenomeWeb News) - Gene-IT has secured $4.1 million through a Series A round of venture-capital financing, the company said today.


Gene-IT said it plans to use the funds to expand sales and marketing programs aimed at discovery scientists and attorneys in major markets in North America and Europe. It also will expand its flagship GenomeQuest software's capabilities to address emerging applications of sequence search in areas such as RNAi and diagnostics next year, it said.


The financing was led by Cross Atlantic Partners and Milestone Venture Partners, based in New York, with reinvestment by Paris-based Société Générale Asset Management Alternative Investments, according to Gene-IT.
