GE Healthcare to Distribute SeraCare GCI s Biobank in Europe and Asia Except Japan

NEW YORK, Oct. 6 (GenomeWeb News) - GE Healthcare will distribute a collection of clinical samples for SeraCare Lifes Sciences' Genomics Collaborative division in Europe and most of Asia, SeraCare and GCI said last week.

 

Under the agreement, which GE Healthcare and Genomics Collaborative signed in April, prior to GCI's acquisition by SeraCare, GE Healthcare will distribute products and services sold under SeraCare's Global Repository brand in Europe and Asia except for Japan.

 

Global Repository is a collection of clinically annotated DNA, RNA, frozen tissue, and serum samples collected from patients from four continents. It contains samples of several types of cancer, autoimmune diseases, infectious diseases, and metabolic disorders.

 

In August, Oceanside, Calif.-based SeraCare renewed its existing distribution alliance for Global Repository with Hitachi High-Technologies for Japan.
