GATC Signs $3.2M DNA-Sequencing Contract with Medical Research Council

NEW YORK, May 26 (GenomeWeb News) - GATC Biotech today said it has signed a €2.5-million ($3.2 million) DNA-sequencing contract with the Medical Research Council.

According to the contract, GATC will provide the MRC's 35 sites in the United Kingdom with DNA sequencing services over a period of at least three years in return for about €2.5 million.

The MRC said it selected GATC over 10 other potential DNA sequencing service providers. A key selling point for GATC was its "fully automated sequencing process that reduces the level of human intervention and error," GATC said.
