NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – The US Federal Trade Commission has granted early termination of the review period for Danaher's proposed $6.8 billion acquisition of Beckman Coulter, according to a notice posted on the agency's website today.
The firms had announced the deal in early February, and at the time said they expected to complete the transaction in the first half of 2011.
Beckman recently reported that its fiscal-year 2010 revenues increased 12 percent to $3.66 billion. Its operations would be added to Danaher's Life Sciences & Diagnostics division, which posted 2010 revenues of $2.3 billion.
