Fluidigm Signs up Quimica Valaner as Mexico Distributor

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – Fluidigm today said that it has inked a deal with Química Valaner to serve as exclusive distributor for its instrumentation and chips in Mexico.

Fluidigm makes microfluidic systems and software for researchers conducting real-time and digital PCR, genotyping, single-cell gene expression, copy number variation and absolute quantification, as well as sample preparation for next-generation sequencing.

"We hope to serve as the catalyst in bringing the benefits of integrated fluidic circuit technology to Mexico's life science researchers," Homero Hernandez, president of Mexico City-based Química Valaner, said in a statement.

Financial and further terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
