EU Sixth Framework Announces Third Call in 2.3B-Euro Life Sciences Program

NEW YORK, May 21 (GenomeWeb News) - The European Union announced Tuesday that it will launch the third call for proposals in life sciences, genomics, and biotechnology of its Sixth Framework funding program on June 16.

The four-year FP6 program has a total budget of €17.5 billion ($21 billion), with €2.3 billion devoted to funding life sciences research.

The event will be held in London and will be followed on June 17 by workshops focusing on research in cancer and diseases related to poverty.
