ESF Launches Initiative to Promote Funding of European Life Science Research

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) - The European Science Foundation said last week that it has launched a new initiative designed to "promote and coordinate direct interaction among European life science researchers and funders."

The initiative, called EuroBioFund, will provide a networking and brokerage platform for funding organizations and researchers; help organize research communities and "facilitate bottom-up generation of Europe-wide research programs; and help develop joint investments and funding of life science research.

According to ESF, the effort will center on an annual meeting, EuroBioForum, the first of which will be held in Helsinki on Dec. 14-15.
