EMD Millipore Gets CLIA Certification for Lab

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – EMD Millipore said today that its Discovery and Development Solutions business has received CLIA certification for its contract research lab located in St. Louis.

The Billerica, Mass.-based division of Germany's Merck KGaA said that the Discovery and Development Solutions business develops and performs immunoassays on human and animal samples and offers biomarker analysis for an array of therapeutic applications including diabetes, infection, neurodegenerative disease, osteoporosis, and cancer.

Christina Shasserre, VP of discovery and development services, said in a statement that the CLIA certification is an important milestone for the firm.
