DeCode Hires Deloitte & Touche As New Accounting Firm

NEW YORK, Sept. 10 (GenomeWeb News) - DeCode Genetics has appointed Deloitte & Touche as its new independent registered public accounting firm.

The move, which is effective immediately, comes a little more than a week after PriceWaterhouseCoopers resigned as the company's independent accounting firm.

As GenomeWeb News reported, DeCode said there were no disagreements with PriceWaterhouseCoopers on "any matter of accounting principles or practices, financial statement disclosure, or auditing scope or procedure which disagreements, if not resolved to PwC's satisfaction, would have caused [the accounting firm] to make reference thereto in their reports on the [company's] financial statements."

PriceWaterhouseCoopers had been DeCode's accounting firm since 1996, the company said.
