Dain Rauscher Says Microarray Market Poised to Surge

NEW YORK, Dec 15 – The microarray industry is poised to explode over the next few year, Dain Rauscher Wessels said in a report issued Friday.

" We foresee the current $600 million market opportunity afforded to DNA microarray technology to grow to $4.5 billion by 2004," genomics equity analyst Todd Nelson wrote in a report.

He said gene expression research would take center stage in the genomics sector over the next few years, adding that DNA microarrays offer “the greatest” market opportunity in the genomics sector for the near- and medium-term.

" We expect gene expression research to be the focal point of the industry for the next several years," Nelson said.
