Chicago s Genomics USA Gets Boost From State of Illinois Incubator

NEW YORK, April 9 (GenomeWeb News) - The ChicagoIllinoisTechnologyEnterpriseCenterthis week announced that Genomics USA was among four companies introduced to its investment portfolio.

Genomics USAis developing DNA and protein microarray technologies for high-throughput microarray products. The company is headquartered at the ChicagoTechnologyParkand has exclusive licenses to technologies covered by patent applications from the Baylor College of Medicine.

Genomics USAplans to use the ITEC investment to obtain preliminary data for SBIR grants and to validate its technologies with selected customers.

Chicago-ITEC provides area companies with business development services and is part of a statewide group of entrepreneurial development centers funded by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.
