Charles River Laboratories International has appointed Cheri Walker to the post of corporate senior vice president of corporate development.
 
Before coming to Charles River, Walker was vice president of mergers and acquisitions for Qiagen and worked in corporate development and in operations at Invitrogen.
 

 
Gregg Fergus has joined NimbleGen’s board of directors, the company said last week.
 
Fergus formerly was senior vice president of sales and global operations at Affymetrix and was CCO at Cellular Dynamics and Stem Cell Products.
 
Fergus also has consulted for Caden Biosciences and was an executive in residence at Baird Venture Partners.
 

 
Millipore has named Charles Wagner as CFO effective Aug.15. He replaces Kathy Allen, who has decided to leave the firm after 23 years. Wagner is currently vice president of strategy and corporate development for Millipore.
 

 
Sigma-Aldrich said that shareholders this week re-elected the firm’s board of directors. The members of the board are Nina Federoff, David Harvey, W. Lee McCollum, Jai Nagarkatti, Avi Nash, William O’Neil, Steven Paul, J. Pedro Reinhard, Timothy Sear, D. Dean Spatz, and Barrett Toan.
 

 
David Onions has been named chief scientific officer of BioReliance. Onions is joining BioReliance from Invitrogen, which recently divested the company. He served as chief medical officer of Invitrogen since 2005.
