Calendar Deadlines

May 1 — Poster submission and travel fellowship application deadline for ISMB 2006.

May 12 — Applications are due for RFA-CA-07-014, Cancer Genome Characterization Centers, part of The Cancer Genome Atlas Pilot Project recently announced by the NCI and NHGRI. Under the award, several CGCCs will be established to compare, optimize, and standardize high-throughput tools to survey cancer biospecimens through the analysis of appropriate biomolecules.

May 15 — Abstract submission deadline for GSAC 2006: Genomes, Medicine, and the Environment. Abstracts will only be accepted from registered conference attendees and must be submitted online.

May 15 — Abstracts are due for Neuroscience 2006. Changes to submitted abstracts will be accepted through May 22.

May 17 — Application due date for Exploratory Collaborations with National Centers for Biomedical Computing, PAR-06-223. This program is directed at projects from individual investigators or small groups to collaborate with the recently-formed NIH Roadmap for Medical Research National Centers for Biomedical Computing.

May 18 — Applications are due for PAR-06-259, Solicitation of Assays for High Throughput Screening in the Molecular Libraries Screening Centers Network. The announcement invites investigators to seek access for their HTS assays to the Molecular Libraries Screening Centers Network, which intends to screen 100-200 HTS assays per year to fully utilize the capacity of the screening centers network. This solicitation supercedes PAR-05-147.

May 26 — Deadline to submit applications for NCI’s Innovations in Cancer Sample Preparation, RFA-CA-07-003, which invites research projects involving the development and enhancement of cancer sample preparation methods and technologies.

May 26 — Poster submission deadline for the 3rd Joint BSPR/EBI Proteomics meeting in Hinxton, UK. Registration for the meeting is due June 9.

May 26 — Applications are due for NCI’s Innovative Technologies for Molecular Analysis of Cancer, also known as RFA-CA-06-002.

June 1 — Deadline day for applications in response to program announcement PAR-05-163, Centers of Excellence in Genomics Science. NHGRI and NIMH intend to support 10 CEGS as P50 specialized centers and an unfixed number of projects under its P20 planning grant mechanism through 2007.

June 6 — Abstracts are due by midnight for the American Society of Human Genetics meeting.

June 8 — Poster submission deadline for the 5th European Conference on Computational Biology 2006. Software demo proposals are also due on this date.

June 21 — Applications due for NHGRI’s research initiative on the Identification of All Functional Elements in Selected Model Organism Genomes, RFA-HG-06-006. Between six to 12 awards will be made under this RFA, which will be funded with $16.5 million dollars in FY 2007 funds have been committed.

June 21 — Both letters of intent and applications are due at NHGRI for RFA-HG-06-007, A Data Coordination Center for the Model Organism ENCODE Project (modENCODE). A total of $1.5 million dollars per year in total costs for 3 years is to be awarded through this RFA.

June 23 — Applications are due for RFA-RM-06-007, Nanomedicine Development Centers by the NIH Nanomedicine Roadmap program. Each multidisciplinary center will join a network of four NDCs that were awarded in fiscal year 2005.

June 26 — Poster presentation abstract submission deadline for the Society for Biomolecular Science’s 12th Annual Conference and Exhibition.

June 27 — Registration begins for the 232nd National Meeting of the American Chemical Society. Early registration rates end on August 21.

June 30 — Early registration deadline for the International Conference of Immunogenomics and Immunomics.

July 1HUPO 5th Annual World Congress abstract submission deadline. Early registration and applications for the Young Investigator Award Competition are due July 15.

July 1 — Final deadline to submit abstracts for the poster session at the 7th International Conference on Systems Biology. Topics include systems biology for medicine, systems biology of basic biological processes, and expanding fronts in systems biology.

August 16RNAi Europe’s poster submission deadline.

September 8 — Abstract submission deadline for the 4th Symposium on the Functional Genomics of Critical Illness and Injury.
