Bionas Nabs $2.8M in VC Cash to Support US, European S&M

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) — Bionas has raised €2.1 million ($2.8 million) in financing from two private companies, and received an undisclosed amount of development funding from two German government agencies, the company said today.
 
Bionas said it will use the money to expand its sales and marketing efforts in the US and Europe, and to fund R&D.
 
The in vitro cellular-profiling company, based in Rostock, Germany, said it received the private funds from Genius Venture Capital and from KFW-Bankengruppe.
 
The public grants came from Germany’s Federal Ministry of Education and Research, and the Federeal State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommem.
