Harvard Bio Top Gainer in Unremarkable Week for BCW Index Stocks

Shares of Harvard Bioscience gained 5.59 percent to close at $3.40 for the five-day trading period ended Tuesday. Late last week the firm provided a more detailed view of its financials and strategy for growth (see related article in this week's issue). Molecular Devices had the steepest drop in stock price over the tracking period, declining nearly 3 percent to $19.32.

Overall, the BCW Index gained .42 percent. By comparison, the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up .14 percent for the same period, while the Nasdaq Biotech Index dropped 2.9 percent and the broader Nasdaq closed down one point for the tracking period.
