Beckman Declares $.16 Dividend; Bank Upgrades Stock

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) — Beckman Coulter today said it will pay a dividend of 16 cents per share on May 25 to all shareholders of record on May 11.  
 
Also today, investment bank RBC Capital upgraded Beckman’s stock to ‘outperform’ after Beckman yesterday posted strong first-quarter revenue and profit gains.
  
The upgrade also came one day after Beckman said it had raised its offer to buy Biosite from $85 to $90 per share, for a total of $1.67 billion, matching a rival bid made by Inverness Medical Innovations.
