Aventis Buys, Uses Gene-IT Software

NEW YORK, May 27 -   Gene-IT has sold Aventis its Biofacet software, and has completed two comparative genomics projects for the big pharma, Gene-IT said today.

 

The studies included an anti-infective study in which Gene-IT used Biofacet to determine the protein sequences of bacterial genomes, and an anti-fungal study, in which the company identified DNA shared among fungal species.

 

The parties did not disclose the financial terms of the agreement. Gene-IT is a Paris-based bioinformatics company.
