Astex Extends X-ray Crystallography Deal with AstraZeneca

NEW YORK, July 7 - Structure-based drug discovery firm Astex Technology said it has extended a research collaboration with AstraZeneca based on its high-throughput X-ray crystallography technology.


The collaboration, which began in May 2001, has been extended an additional three years. Astex will continue to apply its technology to obtain crystal structures of human cytochrome P450s alone and in complex with AstraZeneca's compounds.


Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.
