Applied Market Watch: Qiagen Mericon Salmonella Kit Gets Expanded AOAC Certification

Premium

Qiagen's Mericon Salmonella spp. kit has received an expanded AOAC Performance Tested certification from the AOAC Research Institute.

The expanded certification covers testing of four environmental surfaces – stainless steel, plastic, sealed concrete, and tile – in addition to the test kit’s 2012 certification for use with eight major food matrices.

The Mericon test kit provides all necessary reagents for detection of Salmonella subspecies and runs on the modular QIAsymphony RGQ system, an automated PCR-based platform. The AOAC Research Institute validated the Mericon kit on QIAsymphony RGQ, as well as for manual use.
