Althea Partners with French Firm on Protein Production

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – Althea Technologies said today that it has signed a letter of intent to collaborate with French firm Protein’eXpert on recombinant protein engineering and production for biomedical research applications.
San Diego-based Althea said the pact would pair Protein’eXpert’s protein engineering, process development, and optimization expertise with its own cGMP manufacturing resources for production and fill/finish services from phase I clinical studies through commercial manufacturing. The alliance is expected to enable the firms to reach larger markets, expand their services, and better match early-stage and late-stage client requirements for protein projects, said Althea.
Protein’eXpert is a Grenoble-based contract research organization focused on recombinant proteins. The firm is a member of the Lyonbiopole cluster.
Terms of the alliance were not disclosed.
