Agilent Closes Acquisition of Lab Automation Firm Velocity11

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – Agilent Technologies said last week that it has completed the acquisition of Velocity11, a developer of automated liquid handling and laboratory robotics for the life science market.
 
Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
 
Agilent announced its plan to purchase the privately firm last month.
 
The company said that it expects the acquisition to give it “more comprehensive suite of workflow solutions” for the pharmaceutical, biotech, and academic research markets.
 
Agilent said that “substantially all” of Velocity11's 150 employees have joined Agilent.
 
Velocity11 is based in Menlo Park, Calif., and has a second office in Melbourn, UK.
