Affy Officials: ParAllele Acquisition Closed Friday

NEW YORK, Oct. 24 (GenomeWeb News) - Affymetrix was scheduled to close its acquisition of ParAllele by the end of the day on Friday, according to company officials who spoke during a conference call to discuss the company's third-quarter earnings after market close on Thursday.

 

On Friday, an Affymetrix spokesman confirmed the company's plan to wrap up the acquisition by the end of the day, telling GenomeWeb News that Affymetrix expected to formally announce it today.   

 

Affymetrix announced its plans to purchase ParAllele for $120 million in stock in June. The acquisition was originally scheduled to close by Sept. 30.
