Advion, Thermo to Co-Market Nanoelectrospray Mass Spec System

NEW YORK, March 10 - Mass spectrometry vendors Advion BioSciences and Thermo Electron have signed a non-exclusive agreement to co-market their products to life science researchers, the companies said today.

Advion and Thermo Electron will jointly coordinate the sales, marketing, and support of an automated chip-based nanoelectrospray mass spec system they are developing together. The system, called the NanoMate-LCQ Deca XP Plus, combines Advion's NanoMate 100 automated nanoelectrospray robotic system and ESI chip with Thermo's Finnigan LCQ Deca XP Plus ion trap mass spectrometer.

The non-exclusive agreement launches Advion's "Nanoelectrospray Market Initiative," in which it intends to enter similar co-marketing partnerships with leading mass spec vendors.
