NEW YORK (GenomeWeb) – Eurofins Scientific announced today that its subsidiaries Eurofins BioDiagnostics and Eurofins STA Laboratories have merged into a single company in the seed, plant, and agricultural diagnostics market.
According to Eurofins Scientific, the merger joins Eurofins BioDiagnostics' analytical and genetic service capabilities with Eurofins STA's seed and plant health expertise to create a complete ag-bio analytical testing company.
The new company will retain the Eurofins BioDiagnostics name, with lab operations continuing at its existing locations in Wisconsin, Colorado, and California.
"Although there is significant brand recognition and loyalty in the Eurofins STA brand, we believe that the name BioDiagnostics better captures our broader vision for the future of the company," Eurofins BioDiagnostics President Michael Drozd said in a statement. "The Eurofins BioDiagnostics brand signifies diagnostic discovery and innovation for the global agricultural biological market."
