Dutch Team Developing MLPA-based Prenatal Blood Test; Aims for Clinic in Five Years

The researchers recently presented proof of principle that the test could identify DNA from the Y chromosome in male fetuses in maternal blood. They are further developing the assay for trisomy 21 and will move on to trisomy 13 and 18.
