Job Description: 

The International Business Development Manager for Latin America, Canada and Asia Pacific is responsible for developing and executing all aspects of the go to market strategy for the aforementioned geographies. Annual revenue growth and profitability objectives will be achieved by developing marketing, training, forecasting and sales processes and establishing and maintaining strong relationships with customers, key opinion leaders and partners. This position is directly responsible the design and execution of Sequenom’s territory commercial strategy and for ensuring that product management and marketing communications resources are effective in supporting the International commercial channels. In addition, this position is responsible for developing the pre and post sales technical capabilities and competencies of the organization required to support growth in both core and emerging territories.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for development and execution of the territory annual diagnostic operating plan
Drive support of partners (marketing, training, technical, customer) to ensure revenue objectives are achieved and contract compliance is maintained
Serve as the primary company territory interface for marketing and leadership. Ensure product positioning and branding reflects marketing strategy
Ensure all partners develop and implement area sales and marketing plans and effectively develop sales goals and activity metrics
Ensure development of effective marketing materials, successful promotional campaigns and tools to drive operating plan (catered to specific geographies and markets if required
Represent company to ex-United States doctors, laboratories and partners; Develop and maintain an International key opinion leader (KOL) network to assist with product promotion, market intelligence, product development, geographic priorities, product improvement and market messaging
Identify opportunities for growth and strategies to capture both short and long term share
Negotiate and execute contracts with approved parameters
Establish robust monthly, quarterly and long term forecasting processes, accountable for sales reports of projected bookings to assist in monthly sales forecasting and product build plans
Monitor and develop appropriate strategies to address International market dynamics and competitor actions
Ensure effective new product/market/geography launches
Establish and execute market and partner training plan
Establish formal reporting metrics of marketing initiatives and investments
Manage expenses against pre-established budget and submit required reports on a timely basis.

Requirements: 

Minimum of 10 years of experience in an International diagnostics marketing leadership position is required. Laboratory and KOL relationships in relevant geographies required.
Exposure to molecular, new market creation with innovative technologies and prenatal markets is desired
Bachelor’s degree in life science required. MBA preferred
Experience in supporting and developing multiple international channels/partners
Comprehensive understanding of building competitive advantage through superior product positioning, the marketing mix and product life cycle is an essential requirement
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Self-managing, self-motivating and consistently exceeds expectations
Willingness to travel internationally >40% to accomplish assigned goals
