Job Description: 

The Jovinge Group is seeking a FACS Specialist in their Cardiovascular Research Program. Based on trail-blazing research in endogenous cardiac regeneration, the Cardiovascular Research Program has two main research objectives; to unravel cardiac progenitors during both development stages and in adults for regenerative therapies in the heart and to identify the source and mechanisms of inherent adult generation of caridomyocytes in the human heart.

The Jovinge Group is seeking an individual to focus overseeing and conducting analysis on the BD Influx cell sorter flow cytometry platform.

This position will report to the Principal Investigator and be responsible for the seven-laser FACS BD Influx HEPA platform.

Some key areas of responsibility include:
 Analyzing and sorting samples for surface and intra-cellular markers, cytokine, and DNA content.
 Monitor the BD Influx instrument and ensure quality performance of the equipment and reagents.
 Mentoring and provide training to other technicians in flow cytometry techniques and use of the BD Influx instrument.

 M.Sc. in a related discipline with relevant lab experience; Ph.D. is preferred.
 Good oral and written communication skills
 Good organizational skills
 Ability to work independently and in a team environment

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. The hourly rate will be commensurate with education, relevant work experience, and other qualifications.
