Your work could help millions of people interpret their genetic information and use it to make impactful life changes.

Who we are:

You believe it’s not just possible to make genetics interesting to the average person, but important. You are comfortable evaluating findings from scientific studies and are simultaneously skeptical and excited about new ideas. Like us, you are mission-driven, team-oriented, and want to contribute to something that truly impacts people’s lives.

What you’ll do:

Keep tabs on new genetic research, evaluate scientific papers, and record data on scientific findings for use in regulatory submissions and consumer-facing health content.
Research and create health reports and other content-heavy features that provide customers with compelling and accurate information about their genetics and health.
Help research and prepare new genetic technology and information platforms.
Potentially lead projects directly relevant to 23andMe’s consumer-facing product, business or research endeavors.
Adapt to new tasks and requirements while helping to envision the future of the personal genome experience.

Familiarity with genomic technologies and genetic research methodologies.
Experience using public databases, genomic tools, and online scientific resources such as 1000 Genomes, HGMD, ClinVar, and UCSC Genome Browser.
Ability to be proactive, thorough, and independent; manage a diverse set of tasks; and work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative, and interdisciplinary environment.
Familiarity with Python, R, Linux/Unix, XML, and HTML a plus.
Ability to communicate technical concepts to a popular audience a plus.
