Salary: 
The Post-Doctorate fellowship includes a monthly stipend and research contingency funds. a) The monthly stipend of the FAPESP post-doctoral fellowship is R$ R$ 6.143,40 (USD 2,779.00) - Annual = R$ 73.720,00 (USD 33,357.00) b) The Research Contingency Funds are intended for use in activities developed by the Fellowship holder, strictly related to the fellowship research project, during the term of the fellowship. The funds are equivalent to 15 per cent of the annual value of the fellowship. Installation financial assistance: Those who need to move to the city where is located the headquarters of the research institution may request the benefit Installation financial assistance, comprising: - One (1) additional monthly fee to be paid along with the first month of the fellowship; - Transportation costs, if any displacement by distance exceeding 350 km - see http://www.fapesp.br/en/5427.

Post-doctoral positions available at the Center of Toxins, Immune Response and Cell Signaling (CeTICS) - Instituto Butantan-São Paulo, Brazil, with a scholarship of Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo (FAPESP)

-Project: "Genome Sequencing of Brazilian snakes focused on the study of toxins." The project aims at sequencing the genomes of some venomous snakes through Next Generation Sequencing technologies (NGS), bioinformatic analysis of raw data, genome assembly and annotation. The post-doc will be partially involved in the wet lab activities but will be mainly active in the interpretation of the sequences by searching for toxin genes, describing their detailed structure, identifying paralogues and comparing the elements identified with the current knowledge on the molecular basis of snake venoms. Applicants should have proven experience in projects of genomics or transcriptomics and NGS bioinformatics. We will be prioritizing those with prior knowledge of animal venoms and/or evolution of gene families and/or good skills in bioinformatics.
